ACT is a standardised test taken by students for admissions, ACT gives colleges a rough idea if the student is ready for college or not. It is similar to SAT. Some colleges require SAT, while others ACT to be accepted. Some students opt to attempt both to increase their chances of being accepted to college.

It is advised to take the test at least two months prior to your college application deadline. The scores of the test will be published as soon as within 2 business days, but will take up to 8 weeks if you’ve opted for the optional writing test as well.
The ACT includes these sections: English, Reading, Math and Science, as well as an optional Writing Test. Some schools require students to take up the writing test. So it is best to know this from the university prior. With 215 Multiple Choice Questions students are tested for their ability and skills to do college level work.
Every section is scored out of 36 points, except for Writing, which is scored out of 12 points.
